Life-threatening Causes

  • PPH is a life-threatening cause of Sheehan's syndrome.

Common Causes

Sheehan syndrome may be caused by:

  • Massive hemorrhage
  • Conditions leading to hypotension during pregnancy
  • Vascular compression
  • Vascular occlusion

Less Common Causes

Less common causes of Sheehan's syndrome include:

  • Vascular insufficiency due to CABG in older patients[1]
  • Snake bites(Russell's viper bites).
