- The prevalence of hamartomas is estimated to be 8% in general population. Most lesions are diagnosed incidentally.[1][2]
Age
- Patients usually present in the 4th and 5th decades of life. Hamartomas are very uncommon in children.
Gender
- There is a recognised male predilection ( M:F being ~2-3:1).
