Official Title

University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Arteriosclerosis Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) Intervention Trial

Objective

The objective of this study is to assess the effect of the decrease in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) by diet and drug combinations on the regression of coronary lesions.

Study Description

Study Design
Allocation Randomized
Masking Open label
Endpoint Mean variation in percent area stenosis
Study Details
Condition Familial Hypercholesterolemia
Study Arms Niacin plus colestipol +/- lovastatin (+ diet)
Diet alone
Population Size 72

Outcomes

Primary Outcome

Within patient mean variation in percent area stenosis

Publications
