Risk calculators and risk factors for Burn epidemiology and demographics

[1]

The incidence/prevalence of burn injury is approximately per 217 of which 189 sustained burns/ scald injuries and the remaining sustained electrical burn injuries. [2][3][4][5][6]

Patients of all age groups may develop burns injury, but it’s commonly affects individuals younger than/older. it reported 122 case in this age.122 were aged between 16-35 yrs. Of the 189 people who sustained burns/ scald injuries 33 were children aged 15 yrs or less.

There is no racial predilection to burn injury.

Female are more commonly affected by critical burn injury than male (>25% body surface area) was statistically significant in adults[2][3][4][5]Herndon, David (2012). Total burn care. Edinburgh New York: Saunders Elsevier. ISBN 978-1-4377-2786-9.[7]
