You can’t completely prevent acidosis. However, there are some things you can do to lower your risk.
- Maintain a healthy weight.
- Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and other fluids.
- Keep control of your diabetes. A good management of your blood sugar levels well, you can avoid ketoacidosis.
- Stop drinking alcohol. Chronic drinking can increase the buildup of lactic acid.
- Stop smoking
- Avoid Overuse of nephrotoxic Drugs. Always take recommended dose as prescribed by physician.
- Heathy Diet with balance nutrition, salts and minerals. Excess of anything is bad for health.
- Avoid Acidic food if you are high risk for developing acidosis, for example meat, poultry, fish, dairy, eggs, grains, alcohol
