Overview

The CDC 2021 guideline does not provide a formal cost-effectiveness evaluation of botulism treatments. It describes improved clinical outcomes and reduced hospital resource use associated with early antitoxin treatment, but these findings should not be interpreted as a formal economic comparison of treatment strategies.
