Overview

Ultrasound of the affected joints in adult-onset Still's disease may show thickening and increased vascularization of the synovial membrane, and articular erosions.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound may show the following features in adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD):

• Thickening of synovial membrane (due to synoviocyte hyperplasia and edema of the synovial sub-intima)
• Increased vascularization of the synovial membrane
• Articular erosions (increased echogenicity)
