  • Rigid bronchoscopy may be helpful in the differentiating underlying etiologies of hemoptysis. Bronchoscopy is useful in either:[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
    • Diagnosis of etiology
    • Localizing the site of bleeding
    • Identifying lung cancer
    • Isolation of the involved airway
    • Control of hemorrhage 
    • Treatment of the underlying cause of hemoptysis in case of visible endoluminal lesions
