Prevalence

First degree AV block has a prevalence in the normal (young adult) population of 65-160 per 100,000 with overall average prevalence at 113 per 100,000. Trained athletes reported higher prevalence rates (870 per 100,000).[1]

Incidence

The incidence of first degree AV block is 13 per 100,000 persons.

Age

First degree AV block is associated with advanced age. Men older than 60 years are reported to have a higher prevalence compared to others.
