Age

  • Prepatellar bursitis can affect all age groups. However, the incidence of septic bursitis is higher in pediatrics age group (immunocompromised patients).
  • Olecranon bursitis affects middle-aged people (between the ages of 30 and 60 years).
  • Trochanteric bursitis can affect all age groups. However, the incidence of trochanteric bursitis may be higher in middle-aged to elderly adults.

Gender

  • Male are more commonly affected with prepatellar bursitis and septic bursitis than women.
