Innovations:
A: New Indications for old drugs: 1- I was the first investigator that suggested and studied Pirfenidone for the treatment of Paraquat poisoning.(2012) 2- Our team was one of the very first groups that proposed Colchicine for the treatment of Osteoarthritis. (2011) 3- I have had the honor to be a member of one of the first groups that studied Sildenafil in the treatment of Fontan palliated patients. B: Devices: 4- Our team was one of the very first groups that recommended and studied the feasibility of hot biopsy forceps for endobronchial biopsy. 5- As a medical student, I designed an extremely simple and affordable device that helped the patients (especially elderly) to inject a pre-titrated dose of insulin using traditional insulin injection and insulin vials. Healthcare practitioners will fix the dosage both for NPH and Regular for the day and night. The device is designed user-friendly with particular care for the people with decreased levels of a sigh as well as completely blinded patients. The application of this device eliminated the risk of overdoses and under-treatment with insulin. C: Hypothetical concepts: 6- For the first time, I have hypothesized that treatment with Apelin might reduce the risk of contrast-induced nephropathy in patients with congestive heart failure. 7- I have suggested the concept of “reductive stress” and was one of the very first researchers that wrote against overtreatment with antioxidants.
Clinical experience:
1- General practitioner: After graduation from medical school, I have served in several governmental as well as private clinics as a general practitioner. (2010 – 2018) 2- Emergency room physician: I have worked as an ER man for several years in different emergency rooms and trauma centers. (2010 – 2018)
Management Experience:
1- Executive manager, Pulmonary and Critical Care Research center, Tehran University of Medical Sciences. (2009-2011) 2- Metabolic Disease Research Center (MDRC), Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute, Tehran University of Medical Sciences. I have written the founding proposal for MDRC, including lab devices, materials, protocols, and research center office and laboratory structure. (2010) Extracurricular activity: 3- I have founded my own jewelry brand with a friend of mine (Nastaran and Soroush); I was responsible for designing, marketing, and advertising our products.
Teaching experience:
1- Research methodology instructor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Students’ Scientific Research Center Extracurricular activity: 2- Music theory instructor, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences 3- Private piano teacher, Tabriz and Tehran
