Overview

Secondary prevention for spinal tuberculosis includes regular follow up and adherence to the treatment regimen.

Secondary Prevention

  • Secondary prevention of spinal tuberculosis includes adequate treatment of the infection.
  • All patients must be advised regular follow up and compliance to treatment regimen must be assessed at all visits as the most common cause of worsening and replase is poor compliance.
  • Response to medical therapy must be evaluated in all patients and in patients with worsening symptoms surgical debridement and spine decompression is indicated.
