Editor-In-Chief: C. Michael Gibson, M.S., M.D. [1]

Checklist for editors

--- I have typed in __NOTOC__ SI CMG at the top of all the pages

--- I have used the designation Associate Editor(s)-In-Chief and not anything else like Associate Editor in Chief, Associate Editor etc.,

--- I have used the designation Associate Editor(s)-In-Chief only once for a page

--- I have put in all possible synonyms for a symptom or disease. Synonyms can be found in the Disease database which is located in the Infobox of the disease on the top right side. SK is the code used.

--- I have created redirects to the page for all the synonyms.

--- I have removed links to emedicine in the navigation box. We do not promote traffic to emedicine, our competitor.

--- I have checked to see if there is a patient information page for the disease or symptom

--- I have followed the order that is shown in Template to add a New Disease when editing the page.

--- I have used the exact titles for the subheadings shown in Template to add a New Disease. For example the subheading title is always Classification and not Forms, Types etc., and the subheading title is always Pathophysiology and not Physiology, Pathology, Histopathology etc.,

--- I have made sure that there are no bullet lists in the overview statement. Google will be drawing from the overview statements to form rich snippets as search results. The overview should be written as text, not as bullets.

--- I did not number the causes of a disease.

--- I have put the following mark between links on the home page of a disease: | rather than separating contents by ,

--- I created redirects to all the causes of a disease.

--- I have made sure all the words are spelled correctly before saving the page.

--- I have made sure there is appropriate spacing between the words and sentences. There is a single space between the words and two spaces between the sentences in a paragraph.

--- I have checked that I have capitalized the first word in the subheading.

--- I have checked that I have capitalized the words Common and Causes, Causes by Organ System and Causes in Alphabetical Order.

--- I have checked that I have added and without spaces, appropriately if not present.

--- I have checked that I have added without spaces on every disease page if not present.

--- I have checked whether the "National library of medicine" has a chapter of the symptom and sign that I am working on.

--- I have checked that I have spelled out abbreviations with their first use .

--- I have added "Risk factors" from the "Patient information" page if I didn't find anywhere else.

--- I have checked for patient information page and linked it to WikiDoc page.

--- I have searched for the specific subsection of a page where I have to redirect a link and used the following code Hydrocephalus#Non-communicating hydrocephalus to go to that subsection when I click the link.

--- I have made sure that I have unified the synonym pages without deleting the content and organized the page according to the templates and guidelines (for example: combining the dyspepsia and indigestion pages).

--- I have made sure that I have not added any links to the "Synonyms and keywords".

--- I have made sure that only the first word in the Synonyms and keywords is capitalized and not the rest unless it is a proper noun like Hodgkin's lymphoma.

--- I have removed the reference template 2, and the SI tag from the home page of the sign or symptom when they are completely microchaptered as per the template.

--- In addition, I have removed the tag from all pages so the pages load quicker.

--- I have created a user page and linked my name to the pages I have contributed to.

--- I have made sure that I understand what kind of information goes in each subheading. For instance, risk factors for a disease are different than the causes, and I would not simply just restate the causes of the disease as risk factors.

--- I have made sure that there is no extra space between subheadings.

--- I have made sure that the tables are ending with |} command at the bottom.

--- I have removed the external links unless they are to legitimate government sites or high quality patient sites.

---I have made sure not to include synonyms in the ==Overview== statement.
