Overview

There are no MRI findings associated with alcohol withdrawal. Studies have suggested a decrease in hippocampal volume on a MRI may represent brain atrophy in patients with chronic alcoholism, however, a decrease in hippocampal volume has been suggested to have no association with seizures during alcohol withdrawal.
