Physical Examination

  • Bowel sounds are minimal or absent, in contrast to early mechanical obstruction, when they are hyperactive.
  • Decreased or hypoactive bowel sounds
  • Hypovolemia
  • Abdominal tenderness
  • Abdominal tenderness
  • Tympanic on percussion
  • Absent or hypoactive bowel sounds
  • Absent succussion splash.
