Overview

.Routine neuroimaging, Electroencephalography (EEG) and Genetic testing are not recommended in patients with Asperger Syndrome (AS).

Neuroimaging

Routine clinical neuroimaging such as CT, MRI, single-photon emission CT (SPECT), or positronemission tomography (PET) are not recommended in patients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Electroencephalography (EEG)

Routine electroencephalography (EEG) is not recommended in all patients with ASD and is recommended if there is a history of seizures or there is a suspicion of subclinical seizures or a history of regression.

Genetic testing

Genetic testing is not routinely indicated in patients with ASD.
