History and Symptoms

Rhabdomyosarcomas usually present as rapidly growing mass. They cause localized pressure effects on neurovascular structures. The symptoms of rhabdomyosarcoma varies depending upon the location of tumor:

Base of the skull (parameningeal), Nasal sinuses or ear Headache, facial pain, facial asymmetry, nasal discharge, sinus congestion, earache, ear discharge
Eyes Proptosis, swollon eyelid, vision problems
Urinary bladder or prostate Hematuria, painful micturition
Vagina Vaginal discharge, vaginal bleeding
Abdomen or pelvis Vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain
Neck, back, chest, groin, or limbs Localized swelling, pain, redness
