Dr. Kirmani joined the University Hospital after receiving his training in Neurology at Ohio State University. He completed his Stroke and Neurointensive care fellowships at SUNY, at Buffalo and subsequently trained in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at New Jersey Medical School. He has experience as a clinical teacher and researcher with more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts. He has written several book chapters and invited review articles. Dr. Kirmani is a member of several national and International Professional Societies including the American Heart Association/Stroke Council and American Academy of Neurology. He is also the founding member of the Society for Vascular and Interventional Neurology. He has lectured widely to peers, faculty, residents and students during symposia, grand rounds and other venues. His research and clinical interests include ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, aneurysm treatment, interventional neuroendovascular surgery, neurointensive care, and neurocadiology.
