Overview

Early dysplastic pulmonary changes have been observed to occur more frequently in preterm infants with Ureaplasma colonization, although a previous study suggests there are no unique radiographic changes associated with Ureaplasma.[1][2]

Chest X-ray

Some studies have demonstrated that early dysplastic radiographic changes occur more frequently in preterm infants with Ureaplasma respiratory tract colonization.[1] A previous study conducted demonstrated no radiologically significant difference between neonates colonized with U. urealyticum and non-colonized neonates.[2]
