Washington DC: The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) announced that next year’s annual meeting will be held at Caesar’s Place, Las Vegas in May 6-9.
SCAI is a professional organization consisting of approximately 4000 members from 60 countries representing invasive and interventional cardiology. It has its headquarters in Washington DC.
Details of the forth coming SCAI annual meeting were announced by SCAI in a press release yesterday. In this Dr. Ziyad M. Hijazi current president of SCAI indicated that the SCAI Annual Scientific session will be “a premier interventional cardiology meeting for practicing interventional cardiologists”. This meeting has previously been known as the “Best of the Best in Interventional Cardiology” meeting.
This year this meeting was held in conjunction with the American College of Cardiology, i2 Summit in Chicago. SCAI and ACC have announced that the two meetings will be held separately next year. The SCAI Scientific Sessions has been held over the last 32 years providing a cutting edge and latest advances in interventional cardiology to practicing interventionists. Dr. Weaver, president of the ACC indicated in another SCAI press release that “ACC would continue to work together with SCAI on various initiatives including education, guidelines and advocacy”. In the same press release Dr Weiner immediate past president of SCAI indicated that “the SCAI members are enthusiastic about a return to the intimacy of a meeting with a targeted focus on high-level interventional cardiology”.
In the press release, Dr Ted Feldman, past president of the society indicated that “this meeting will consist of an educational program featuring new clinical trials, case based discussion and discussion on the advances in coronary, peripheral and structural heart diseases including pediatric cases”. From 2010, this meeting will be held at an earlier time period.
