An x-ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of sialolithiasis. Radiopaque stones can be seen in x-rays.

X Ray

An x-ray may be helpful in the diagnosis of sialolithiais. Findings on an x-ray suggestive of sialolithiasis include:[1]

  • Radiopaque stones: 43-60% of the parotid stones and 80-95% of the submandibular stones are radiopaque and can be seen in x-ray.
