Secondary Prevention
Effective measures for the secondary prevention of long QT syndrome include:[1][2][3]
- Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) in high-risk patients
- Magnesium sulfate for recurrence of long QT-related ventricular ectopic beats or Torsades de pointes
- Beta blockers for patients with congenital LQTS and a history of syncope, seizures, or resuscitated sudden cardiac death
