There are no other specific imaging findings for diverticulitis. Other studies, such as barium enema and colonoscopy, are contraindicated in the acute phase of diverticulitis due to the risk of intestinal perforation.

Other studies, such as barium enema, colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy are contraindicated in the acute phase of diverticulitis or in patients who had a recent rectal biopsy due to the risk of intestinal perforation.[1][2]
