Overview
Surgical intervention is not usually recommended for the management of eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis. However, myringotomy, polypectomy, and endoscopic sinus surgery may be performed in some patients to treat upper airway disease.
Indications
- Surgery is not the first-line treatment option for patients with eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis.
- Surgical intervention may be recommended for following indications:[1]
- Polypectomy for the removal of nasal polyps
- Endoscopic sinus surgery for the management of sinusitis
- Myringotomy
