  • There is no established method for prevention of aphthous ulcers. Dental hygiene and regular dentistry visits though are highly advised for improving bucal health and reducing the risk of aphthous ulcers.
  • If there is any medical condition causing the appearance of aphthous ulcers, treatment of the medical condition may keep aphthous ulcers from appearing or reduce its frequency and severity.
  • If the patient has any history of drug use causing aphthous ulcers, the drug must be avoided.
