Varices

Varices in general refers to distended veins. It derives from the Latin word for twisted, "varix". Types of varices include:

  1. Varicose veins of lower extremities
  2. Gastrointestinal varices
  3. Scrotal varices: varicocele
  4. Varix of the heart
