Overview

Reduced heart rate variability due to autonomic dysfunction can be observed on Holter monitoring. This lack of variability in the heart rate has been shown to be a more consistent predictive parameter of short-term mortality in patients with AL type amyloidosis with cardiac involvement as compared to those with AA type amyloidosis.
