Patients with aspiration pneumonia may have a positive history of:

  • chest pain
  • cough
  • fever
  • history of predisposing condition
  • Altered level of conspicuousness
  • Newborns may not have typical symptoms
  • Fatiguee
  • Fever, sweating and shaking chills
  • Lower than normal body temperature
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
  • Shortness of breath

Common Symptoms

Common symptoms of aspiration pneumonia include:

  • chest pain

  • fever
  • history of predisposing condition 

Less Common Symptoms

Less common symptoms of aspiration pneumonia include
