▸ Craniotomy instead of burr holes as surgical procedure |
▸ Early treatment |
▸ Young age (optimal between 10-20 years) |
▸ Patient presents awake, alert and oriented |
▸ Source of infection: paranasal sinuses |
▸ Aerobic streptococci isolated in culture |
▸ Aerobic streptococci as single pathogen |
