Overview
MRI may be helpful in the diagnosis of midgut volvulus in pregnancy. Findings on MRI suggestive of volvulus include whirlpool sign.

- Findings on an MRI suggestive of volvulus include whirlpool sign that denotes twisting of the superior mesenteric vein and mesentery around the superior mesenteric artery.
