Overview

Viral meningitis can occur via many viruses. The most important and common virus group that causes the viral meningitis are Enteroviruses. Others like arboviruses, herpes simplex viruses and herpes zoster also can cause viral meningitis but not very common like the enteroviruses.

Causes

common causes: Enteroviruses, arboviruses and HSV.

Rare: Mumps, HZ, HHV 6, influenza [1]
