Overview
Other diagnostic studies for optic nerve glioma include visual field tests, biopsy, and cerebral angiography.
Other Diagnostic Studies
Partial or total loss of vision or changes in the optic nerves are typically shown by a neurological exam. The other tests used to help diagnose optic nerve glioma in addition to physical examination are:
- Cerebral angiography
- Visual field tests
- Biopsy
In a child with neurofibromatosis 1, vision is closely followed. A doctor may order a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan to confirm the diagnosis if the vision starts to worsen.
