This male patient from the country of Brazil presented with a fungal infection of the face affecting his right eye, upper lip, nares, and tongue. The infection, known as paracoccidioidomycosis, which is also known as Lutz-Splendore-Almeida disease, or Brazilian blastomycosis, is caused by the fungal organism, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis.
