Overview
Classification
Based on tissue involvement, human papillomavirus (HPV) is classified in to 3 main groups:
- Cutaneous
- Anogenital
- Other Mucosal surfaces
Currently, 210 different types of HPV have been discovered and the number keeps increasing.[1][2] Clinical manifestations depend on which HPV type involve which anatomic area.
