==Dosage and Administration==
The usual starting and maintenance dose of levatol®, used alone or in combination with other [[antihypertensive]] agents, such as thiazide-type diuretics, is 20 mg given once daily.

Doses of 40 mg and 80 mg have been well-tolerated but have not been shown to give a greater [[antihypertensive]] effect. The full effect of a 20- or 40-mg dose is seen by the end of 2 weeks. A dose of 10 mg also lowers blood pressure, but the full effect is not seen for 4 to 6 weeks.<ref name="dailymed.nlm.nih.gov">{{Cite web  | last =  | first =  | title = LEVATOL (PENBUTOLOL SULFATE) TABLET [ACTIENT PHARMACEUTICALS, LLC] | url = http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/lookup.cfm?setid=d241fc80-2c55-4dbb-bdb2-44f731afa137 | publisher =  | date =  | accessdate = 4 February 2014 }}</ref>
