Overview

Some measures might help in secondary prevention.Testing should be done in patients suffering from certain syndromes which are associated with wilms tumor to detect them early. If a patient is suffering from Denys-Drash syndrome then prophylactic bilateral nephrectomy may be considered.

Secondary Prevention

  • Some measures that might help are:-
    • Testing should be done in patients suffering from certain syndromes which are associated with wilms tumor to detect them early.[1][2]
    • Genetic counselling may be of some help to parents with a family history of wilms tumor.[3]
    • If a patient is suffering from Denys-Drash syndrome then prophylactic bilateral nephrectomy may be considered.[4]
