Overview
On abdominal CT scan, pseudomyxoma peritonei is characterized by loculated ascitic fluid in peritoneal surfaces and scalloping of visceral surfaces, especially the mesentery and liver.

On abdominal CT scan, pseudomyxoma peritonei is characterized by:[1][2]
- Low attenuation, loculated fluid in the peritoneum, omentum, and mesentery.
- Scalloping of visceral surfaces, particularly the liver.
- Large cystic tubular structure may be present, showing appendical mucocele.
- It tends to remain localized to the peritoneal cavity.
