Isopropamide is a long-acting anticholinergic drug. It is used in the treatment of peptic ulcer and other gastrointestinal disorders marked by hyperacidity and hypermotility. Chemically, it contains a quaternary ammonium group. It was discovered at Janssen Pharmaceutica in 1954.
