The Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors (IACD) was voted into the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) in June 2005, during a conference that was held in Sydney, Australia. The WFC is an association affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO). They have sanctioned the Indian Association of Chiropractic Doctors as the official association for Chiropractic in India.

The IACD aims to implement the natural healing effects of chiropractic care into the general Indian public while protecting its image. Its role in India, is to act as the regulatory body ensuring that chiropractic is being portrayed in a positive light, be the host for any school India abroad trips, and create a positive working relationship with officials in India (both at the federal and provincial levels).
