Dimethylhydrazine is the name of two compounds with the formula C2H8N2. These are:

  • 1,1-Dimethylhydrazine, where both methyl groups are bonded to the same nitrogen atom. It is commonly used as a rocket fuel.
  • 1,2-Dimethylhydrazine, where one methyl group is bonded to each of the two nitrogen atoms. It is a powerful carcinogen, associated with colon cancer in rats.
