Overview
Screening for HCC must be done in every cirrhotic patient. It is performed at a frequency of 6-12 months. Screening endoscopy for detection of esophageal varices must be performed at regular intervals in all patients.
Screening
- Patients with cirrhosis must undergo screening for HCC every 6-12 months.
- Screening endoscopy for detection of esophageal varices must be performed:
- Within a year in case of compensated cirrhosis
- Within three months in case of complicated cirrhosis
