Overview
Common physical examination findings of dumping syndrome include tachycardia, flushing, abdominal pain and distention, borborgymus, tremor and weight loss in most severe cases.
Physical Examination
Physical examination of patients with dumping syndrome is usually remarkable for:
General
- Weight loss. This is commonly found in severe cases[1]
Vital Signs
- Tachycardia (rapid heart beats)[2]
Skin
- Profuse perspiration (sweating)
- Skin flushing (skin turns red)
Abdomen
- Abdominal distention (bowel inflates)
- Abdominal tenderness (non-specific pain)
- Borborygmus (rumbling noises in the bowel)
Neuromuscular
- Tremor (trembling hands)
