Overview

There is no established method for primary prevention of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Primary Prevention

  • There is no established method for prevention of PCOS.
  • However, The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development’s Division of Epidemiology, Statistics, and Prevention Research (DESPR) is exploring early signs of PCOS in teenage girls by examining the relationships among ovarian shape and size, abdominal obesity, and biomarkers of insulin resistance in early PCOS.[1]
