Overview

Some confirmed etiologies for intellectual disabilities can be prevented with different treatment modalities such as enzyme supplementation or chelation in cases of Wilson's disease. Symptomatic treatment is also instituted in cases of seizures in tuberous sclerosis.

Medical Therapy

Medical intervention for identified causes of intellectual disability should be instituted. [1]
