Below are a few suggestions of ways you can contribute to the ongoing project to provide the world with the highest quality and most up to date medical information. Write a WikiDoc News Article

  • If you see something newsworthy, share it with WikiDoc's users.
  • See WikiDoc News: News Team Resources for instructions on how to write a WikiDoc News article.
  • Wikidoc news template provides an example of what a WikiDoc News article should look like.
  • Once your WikiDoc news article is written, see How to post a WikiDoc News article for instructions on to post your news article to the front page of WikiDoc.
  • Please remember to link medical terms in WikiDoc News articles to their respective pages in the WikiDoc Global Textbook of Medicine by inserting double brackets ([[example]]) around the term.

Insert Patient Resource Links

  • If you know of a website that provides useful, accurate, and reliable information about a specific disease state, insert a link in the external links section of the appropriate WikiDoc Global Textbook of Medicine pages.
  • Use the following as a template for inserting and titling a link: [http://example.com/ Title of link]
  • If a page does not contain an external links section, please feel free to create one.

Edit a Page Awaiting Pre-Medical Review

  • Go to Category:Awaiting pre-medical review
  • Select a page to edit and upload medically relevant content that is currently linked in red.
  • Please abide by the following instructions when editing a pre-medical review page:
  1. Do Not Overwrite Original Content of our pages that have extensive differential diagnoses with a Wikipedia page.
  2. Make sure is at the top of the page
  3. Check the history to make sure there is no extensive differential diagnosis or other text created by Heather Mangan or Caitlin Harrigan. If so, integrate this in.
  4. Create links from as many parts of the differential diagnosis as possible
  5. Make sure the pages is in a category(s)
  6. Make sure the page ends with : {{WikiDoc Help Menu}} and {{WikiDoc Sources}}
  • When you complete your review of the page replace {{pmr}} with {{jb1}} to have a bot remove the remaining red links.
